wonderful Gingerbread House! The Richards team was recently crowned Champions of the Healthy Schools Campaign’s 10th Annual
“Cooking Up Change” competition, topping 15 other great culinary teams throughout the CPS system. Cristina Foods also thanks
CPS Nutrition Support Services Director, Leslie Fowler, and CPS Culinary Program Director, David Blackmon, for their tireless efforts
in making this program an ongoing success.
11/9/16: Cristina Foods hosted a lunch and tour of its facility for a group of students from the Chicago High School for Ag Sciences,

10/20/16: Cristina Foods again teamed up with the Molina Foundation to assist in distributing over 115,000 free books to
school-aged children throughout Chicago. Many thanks to Molina folks, Dawn Bayer, Jen Wrenn, and Rachael Orose, for
assembling such a great group of volunteers to get this all done in just one day!

10/30/15: Cristina Foods donated warehouse space, trucks, and drivers, working again with the Molina Foundation and
the CPS Literacy Program, distributing (another!) 31,000 books to 40 high schools in the system. We teamed up initially
back in early June of this year, donating the same resources for elementary and middle school kids, across 38 Chicago public
schools…We were very humbled by the experience, and will continue to support wherever we can.

10/7/14: Cristina Foods sponsored a field trip for about 100 Chicago Public Schools’ Culinary and Agricultural students, as well as faculty,
to one of their apple growing partner’s orchard in Michigan. The groups were from Chicago Vocational Career Academy and
Marshall Metro HS. We want to give special thanks to those who participated (CPS-Culinary & Ag Programs, Aramark, Healthy Schools
Campaign, Farmlogix), and the folks who helped coordinate the trip (CPS, Aramark, Riveridge Produce), and of course our gracious host

8/30/13: U.S. Senator Richard Durbin paid a visit to our facility with some members of his staff. We wish to thank the senator for being
generous with his time, as he took a full tour of the facility. Many of the building’s sustainable features were discussed, along with
upcoming sustainable initiatives for Illinois and the rest of the country.
